Canadian Team looking for Life on little red planet!

MATMOS, or Mars Atmospheric Trace Molecule Occultation Spectrometer is the name of the devices that a Canadian team of scientist will share the responsibilities of development of such device. What does this device exactly do instrument to analyze the levels of methane and oxygen in Mars’ atmosphere, potentially uncovering signs of life Mars. This device is mainly  looking for methane gas, reason being methane is  a byproduct of animals digestive systems, also oxygen from plants.

This device will be able to give accurate details of specific readouts in different locations, seasons, and specific areas of higher concentration might lead to areas that require more investigation.

MATMOS is scheduled to be aboard the Exomars Trace Gas Orbiter,A NASA and the European Space Agency scheduled to launched to Mars 2016.
